Abstract

In his paper Sevost'ianov noted the aptness for study by Soviet scholars of the history of the industrial revolution in the USA. In point of fact, this problem, resolved by Soviet historical scholarship with respect to a number of European powers (see, for example, the works of F. V. Potemkin on the history of the industrial revolution in France), has not yet been comprehensively treated with respect to the most powerful capitalist state.
