Abstract
The paper by M.L. Bazhenov and N.M. Levashova is devoted to the paleomagnetic study of Late Devo� nian volcanics in the Northern Tien Shan. Based on this study, the authors suggest a new hypothesis char� acterizing secular variation of the geomagnetic field in the past. Thus, the paper consists of two parts, of which the first part is the basis for the second part. Below, we present a brief analysis of each part of the paper separately.
