Abstract

We show that the synchronizer described in the above paper is not a maximum a posteriori (MAP) synchronizer, as it searches the minimum instead of the maximum of the log likelihood ratio. Only a slight modification is required to transform it into a MAP synchronizer. By a theoretical analysis, we show that this modification substantially reduces the rms timing error.
