Abstract

AbstractIntimate partner violence is a universal phenomenon that warrants awareness by all health care providers. This article summarizes a Cochrane Review on screening women for intimate partner violence in health care settings. The review authors identified 13 randomized controlled trials and quasi-randomized controlled trials that assessed the effectiveness of screening for intimate partner violence. The authors concluded that there was insufficient evidence to justify implementation of universal screening for intimate partner violence.
