Abstract
Central Message: Ventricular septation for double inlet left ventricle requires judgment and exacting technical execution. Staged Ventricular Septation in Patients with Double inlet VentricleOperative Techniques in Thoracic and Cardiovascular SurgeryPreviewDouble inlet ventricle, including double inlet left ventricle (DILV) or double inlet right ventricle (DIRV) may be managed with staged ventricular septation strategy. This manuscript describes our techniques for staged septation. The strategy avoids the Fontan procedure and culminates in either biventricular circulation or 1.5V circulation. The goal is to retain low IVC pressures with normalization of oxygen saturations. Long term data are lacking, but the strategy may be an option for subgroups of patients. Full-Text PDF
