Abstract

Some of the comments we made on this page in January in regard to solvent trends are now outdated by recent developments: not least the situation in Iran and the startling rise in prices of naphtha, which have reached staggering levels of over $250/ton. To update the situation we cannot do better than to let Mr Roger A. Coppens, Vice President for Solvents of Essochem Europe Inc, have the Comment page this month—in republishing some of the facts he presented last month in “Update”, Essochem Europe's in‐house publication.
