Abstract
The establishment of Aedes albopictus, vector of arbovirosis, Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika, as well as the existence of epidemic outbreaks in the French overseas departments, requires to take into account the risk of transmission when treating them in health facilities and at home. A plan for the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases must be implemented within health facilities. Its first part is designed to prepare staff and premises (including the surroundings of the facility) and the second part is devoted to the measures to implement during the care of a suspect patient. As a preventive measure, the establishment should identify and list the various potential breeding sites on the establishment, in order to control them and avoid adult emergence. The organization of user and staff protection is based on the identification of a management system for suspect patients to ensure targeted mosquito control in the premises concerned. These measures should be applied without delay when treating a suspect patient in a health facility. In case of home care, the Regional Health Agency (RHA) is responsible for implementing measures to limit the risk of transmission. In order to monitor any risk of transmission prior to diagnosis, RHA is also responsible for collecting the person's living quarters for the duration of his or her viremia. It should then transmit preventive measures if necessary.
