Abstract

A reduction in lateral adhesion of water droplets on poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) brush surfaces exposed to various vapor conditionswasrecently reported. Itwassuggested that the mobility of droplets is due to swelling of the PDMS brushes. When changing the vapor surrounding sliding droplets on bare surfaces, a similar phenomenon is observed, presenting a much simpler explanation of the observed results.
