Abstract

For original paper see ibid., vol.43, no.5, p.1109-14 (2005). Boukabara et al. assert that uncertainties in oxygen line-coupling parameters in the Millimeter-wave Propagation Model (MPM92) may introduce errors of several degrees in brightness temperature at frequencies used by satellite radiometers. However, the methodology used by Boukabara et al. overestimates uncertainty in the model predictions, and it is shown that the simulations based on it are inconsistent with previously published atmospheric measurements.
