Abstract

Stelzer and Grill discuss prediction of resolution, based on application of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. We discuss different measures of width of the point spread function (PSF). In our opinion Stelzer and Grill's results should be interpreted in terms of central derivatives of the PSF, rather than in terms of the intensity variance as predicted by the uncertainty principle.
