Abstract
Luca et al. (2017) claim that handgun waiting periods reduce gun deaths. This is actually the only one of the authors' findings, out of 8 tests of gun control effects, that indicated any benefit. Further, the authors' methods could not sustain even their claim that waiting periods reduce gun homicides. This paper explains why.
