Abstract

This letter disputes the conclusion of an article which compared 3 hearing aid prescription procedures. The data which allegedly suggest that one procedure, based on Most Comfortable Loudness level measurements, is superior to the other procedures, based on Hearing Threshold Level measurements, merely illustrate the variability of most comfortable loudness level measurements. No evidence is produced to show which, if any, of the procedures is most accurate. It is also pointed out that the article does not indicate some of the most important differences in the procedures.
