Abstract

The original paper ‘Scalar calibration of vector magnetometers’ conceived the ideaof an ‘intrinsic reference frame system’ (IRFS), which is capable of playing a keyrole in varied calibration and correction procedures for three-axial magnetometersand coil facilities. However, the IRFS matrix derived in the original was open toquestion. The present comment analyses the IRFS concept and corrects the IRFSmatrix.
