Abstract

For several years, we have conducted an intensive examination of the Liouville–Bratu–Gelfand problem across one-, two-, and three-dimensional domains (Temimi and Ben-Romdhane, 2016 [1]; Ben-Romdhane et al., 2019 [2]; Temimi et al., 2020 [3]; Temimi et al., 2024 [4]). In fact, the pursuit of reliable exact solutions for the two- and three-dimensional Bratu problems has proven elusive within the existing literature. In 2018, Saleh et al. (2018) [5] introduced what initially appeared to be a promising exact solution for the two-dimensional (2D) Bratu problem. However, one year later, El-Mistikawy (2019) [6] invalidated Saleh’s solution. In 2020, Ali and Ma (2020) proposed yet another exact solution for the 2D Bratu problem. In this paper, we reveal and prove that this latter-claimed solution is also incorrect and fails to satisfy the differential equation.
