• An attempt to stratigraphy and tectonosedimentary evolution for Çameli Basin has restored. • A constant deposition from early Miocene onward is proposed without actual age data. • It conflicts and deviates from the well-articulated stratigraphy and geodynamic. • We highlight complete marine and terrestrial fossil data for the Çameli Basin area. • An early-mid Miocene piggy-back basin is superimposed by Vallesian-Villanyian graben.
