Abstract
It is shown that the damping rate of the ion-acoustic wave in a dusty plasma due to the grain charge fluctuations obtained by the authors of a recent work [Vranjes et al., Phys. Plasmas 9, 1464 (2002)] is based upon deficient equations. The result appears to be incorrect.
