Abstract

It is shown that the results of calculations using a scattering-matrix approach based on empirical pseudopotentials support the use of the usual envelope-function interface connection rules at GaAs/AlAs heterojunctions, contrary to the claims of the above-cited paper, provided one uses an energy-dependent effective mass.
