Abstract
► We discuss the influence of magma mixing on the CO 2 -H 2 O behavior in magmas. ► Witham ‘s model does not fit our melt inclusion data set for Mt Etna and Stromboli. ► Magma fluxing by a deep derived CO 2 -rich gas better explains the CO 2 -H 2 O evolution.
