Abstract
Zhou et al. (Phys. Lett. A 271 (2000) 26) calculated the imaginary part of the energy of the metastable state for the asymmetric double-well potential. However, the energy eigenvalues for the potential under consideration are real and any reliable approximation should produce real energy eigenvalues even though the standard WKB approximation would (mis)lead to complex-valued ones.
