Abstract

It is argued that the decrease with increasing indenter load in the value of the elastic modulus [1] of a bulk metallic glass determined using a nanoindentation machine combined with the current methods of data analysis is not a manifestation of any damage in the metallic glass. Rather, the cause of the decrease of the elastic modulus is an error in the method of data analysis.
