Comment on a graph-theoretical description of heteroconjugated molecules

Abstract

Attention is drawn to certain shortcomings in a recently proposed expression for the general characteristic polynomial of an arbitrarily weighted graph, and ways are suggested in which this approach may be improved. The polynomial arises in a general graph-theoretical formulation of the simple LCAO MO theory of heteroconjugated molecules.
