Abstract

The recently proposed mixing rule by Humffray (Can. J. Chem. 65, 833 (1987)) is examined using very precise experimental density data on aqueous mixed electrolytes. It is observed that the computed results deviate systematically from the experimental data, where the mixture densities are not linear with the component electrolyte densities.
