Abstract
This article present the first report of the leech Helobdella stagnalis Linnaeus, 1758 on yellow-bellied toad, Bombina variegata (Linnaeus, 1758).

An individual was photographed with a Canon Power Shot A480 (Fig. 1a-b)
Leeches has been identified thanks to the presence of a dark chitinized anterior scute, which is characteristic of this species (Sawyer 1986)
