Abstract

This paper evaluates the applicability of classical response function theory to describe the combustion response of homogeneous propellants. A steady-state model is used to calculate upper-limit frequencies for the validity of the quasi-steady gas assumption. Steady-state models are also used to calculate the parameters needed as inputs for the response function theory. Calculoted response functions are compared to experimental data acquired from T-burners. It is concluded that the classical theory is descriptive of the combustion response of homogeneous propellants.
