Abstract

In this paper we are concerned with combining models in discrete discriminant analysis in the small sample setting. Our approach consists of an adaptation to discriminant analysis of a method for combining models introduced in the neural computing literature (Bishop, 1995). For combining models we consider a single coefficient obtained in a fuzzy classification rule context and we evaluate its performance through numerical experiments (Sousa Ferreira, 2000).
