Abstract
This is the type of book needed in this country for medical students. It is not quite the size of the best textbooks on obstetrics (De Lee and Williams) and yet it contains almost all the information a student need obtain from a textbook concerning both obstetrics and gynecology. It is true that there exist systems of books which combine the two subjects and that more of these systems are in process of preparation, but these are obviously not suitable for most undergraduate students. It is needless to point out that in a combined textbook of obstetrics and gynecology there is omission of needless repetition. This book, written by four of the leading teachers of obstetrics and gynecology of Scotland, is an excellent one, beautifully written and abundantly illustrated.
