Abstract

Background: Post-operative pancreatic fistula (POPF) is a major complication following pancreatectomy and is difficult to predict pre-operatively. The burden of polypharmacy is increasing with the age of society and thus could prove predictive of post-operative complications including POPF. This study aims to validate pre-operative risk factors, including radiologic main pancreatic duct diameter (MPD), body mass index (BMI), and the Co-morbidity Polypharmacy Score (CPS), and develop a novel combined pancreatic leak prediction score (CPLPS) for the prediction of POPF.
