Abstract

Plane-wave diffraction by a finite sinusoidal grating is analyzed approximately using the Wiener-Hopf technique combined with the perturbation method. Scattered far field is derived with the aid of the saddle-point method and scattering characteristics of the grating are discussed via numerical computations of the far-field patterns.
