Abstract

The reported success rate with patching / penalisation therapy alone for amblyopia is 86%-96%.1 Treatment options these children include increasing patching hours, additional atropine/ /optical penalisation/ patching when the other was instituted alone,2,3 additional pharmacological, acupuncture therapy, etc. Previous reports have shown good outcomes with combined optical and atropine penalisation for refractory amblyopia.2,3 The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of addition of atropine to children refractory to amblyopia therapy with occlusion alone.
