[1] first proposed a classification system for mandibular prominence and an osteotomy technique for the mandible through the intraoral approach [1, 2], the mandible reduction procedure has been one of the most popular techniques in the facial bone contouring field among Asian people. The authors also suggest a new classification system and describe their methods of clinical implementation. However, I cannot help pointing out some issues that may ignite debate over the procedure.
