Abstract

Serum level of periostin has been studied as a biomarker for type 2 inflammation in asthma patients. In addition, serum levels of human chitinase-3-like protein 1 (YKL40) have been found to be related to asthma severity and airway remodeling. We explored the relationship between serum periostin, YKL-40, and bronchial hyperresponsiveness (BHR) in asthmatic children.
