Abstract

In this paper, we investigate a combination scheme of chaotic pulse width-position modulation (CPWPM) and binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) modulation for digital communication. There, binary information is firstly modulated onto chaotically-varied intervals of position and width of pulses by CPWPM. Output pulses from CPWPM are then conveyed by a sinusoidal carrier by means of a BPSK modulation. Simulation results on time and frequency domains as well as bit error rate (BER) performance in an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel prove the operation and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
