Abstract

It is shown that the corrections for matrix absorption, multiple overlapping interference and background in XRF can be combined in a limited range of wavelengths. Two comprehensive correction equations were derived from the theories of the scattering internal standard technique and the linear relationship between backgrounds. The determination of the trace element molybdenum in geological samples is reported as an example of the application of the combination correction technique.
