Abstract

In 2010, the wheat stem sawfly began causing problems for Colorado's winter wheat farmers. Back then, it was confined to the state's northeast corner, and the impact were small. Today, it's become a serious problem, with 54% of fields surveyed in eastern Colorado having the pest in 2017. What can producers and CCAs do to manage the sawfly in Colorado?
