Abstract

This work focuses on the challenges orchestrated by piracy in the Nigerian movie industry, taking into cognizance the mode of operation of the pirates, impacts on the movie industry, and while also exploring the advantages embedded in the adoption of technological measures and political restructuring in terms of devolution of governmental powers in combating piracy so as to build a stalwart indigenous movie industry geared towards international best practices and standards.
