Abstract
Professor Bronya Tsoi is a leading scientist and researcher in the field of statistical properties of materials. His principal scientific interests are the following: physics of strength, physicochemical mechanics of materials, mechanics of fracture, experimental and theoretical studies of statistical properties of lifetime, strength, and structure of solid polymers under separate and complex action of various external factors (temperature, scale, stress, active liquid media, UV and γ-irradiation, chemical additives, etc.). He is the author of more than 150 scientific publications, a handbook on irradiation stability of polymer materials, and 6 monographs on the problems of strength. Since 1971, after graduating from Tadjik State University (Faculty of Physics), he was involved in the fundamental research on the problems of statistical strength and lifetime characteristics of solid polymers (and this work has lasted for more than 30 years).
