Abstract

Plastics Resins that Sound like Metal was presented by W. E. Sattich, Product Development Specialist from Chevron Phillips Chemical Company. The speaker described the exceptional properties of Poly(phenylene sulphide) (PPS) and its applications. He pointed out the recent developments of blends and alloys of PPS with other polymers, leading to compounds with excellent thermal stability, high modulus, creep resistance, inherent non-flammability, and good dimensional stability at elevated temperatures and in hostile chemical environments.
