Coloured Noise Generation with IFFT

Abstract

In this work, a new method recently proposed in the literature is investigated and implemented in terms of generating real time coloured noise samples using IFFT on Virtex-5 FPGA. Using this method noise samples with desired characteristics can be obtained by controlling distribution and spectrum values independently. As a specific example, we implement noise samples with Gaussian distribution and uniform frequency band for defined interval.
