Abstract

Pr0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (PSMO) films were fabricated on (0001) sapphire substrates by pulsed laser deposition. The structure and transport properties of the films have been investigated. Several textures and disorder coexist in the PSMO films and result in the colossal magnetoresistance (MR) effect at a wide temperature range of 5–210 K. Colossal MR at the wide temperature region provides opportunities for practical application in manganite film devices. Our research results demonstrate that the textures and the disorder state induced by multiple growth orientations can strongly influence the transport properties of film.
