Abstract

Radiation-induced absorption as well as thermoluminescence of irradiated pure and Mg-doped LiBaF 3 crystals were studied. Color center properties were found to depend on the Mg-content and heat treatment. The possibility of Mg + and Mg 0 centers formation is shown. Intense thermally stable color center luminescence and thermostimulated emission parameters indicate that LiBaF 3(Mg) crystals are prospective laser active and dosimetric media.
