Abstract

This study looks at three primary South African authors - Andre Brink, Breyten Breytenbach, and J.M. Coetzee - to consider violence in the context of apartheid and colonialism, and their inherent patriarchies. Works by Kafka, Freud and Hegel are used in the analysis.
