Rovine holds a joint appointment as Associate Professor in the School of Art and Art History and the Center for African Studies at the University of Florida. Her book, Bogolan: Shaping Culture through Cloth in Contemporary Mali (Indiana University Press, 2008), explores the changing incarnations of textiles, fashion, and art in West Africa and the Diaspora. Her current research is focused on the exchanges between African and European cultures via dress and fashion design.
