Abstract

This chapter focuses on Colombian Americans and presents a brief historical background, available demographic information, and current concerns and successes regarding their post-migration experiences in the United States (e.g., acculturative stress, identity development, and potential clinical issues). Colombian immigrants’ connection to family as a cultural anchor is noted as essential for clinicians to consider. We conclude our chapter by considering the future regarding the ongoing success stories represented by many Colombians in the United States.
