Abstract

The numerous manifestations of molecular chirality in chemistry and biochemistry indicate the importance in nature of the chiral discrimination. Since long time, these phenomena have been studied as they show up in the interaction of molecules with light, while the effects of chirality in molecular collisions have been so far mostly ignored. Here we resume some conjectures about the role of chirality in collisions, from both an experimental and theoretical point of view, suggesting a scenario for a stereo-directional origin of chiral selection.
