Abstract
ABSTRACT Collision strengths and photoionization cross sections for atoms and ions of nitrogen, oxygen, and neon, with configurations ls22822p% are fitted to interpolation formulae. These formulae give the effective collision strengths of NO and O as a function of temperature, and photoionization cross sections as a function of frequency. The close coupling approximation is used to obtain collision strengths for ions of neon, and photoionization cross sections for N+, O++, Ne+, Ne++, Ne3+, and Ne4+. The remaining data are quoted from previous calculations in which the same method of computation was used. A comparison is made hetwecn the present results for collision strengths and those using the exact resonance and distorted wave approximation.
