Abstract

The first College of Occupational Therapists' research and development strategy was published in 1997, setting out the responsibilities of occupational therapists at three levels of research: as consumers, as participants and as research leaders. This initial strategy was revised in 2000 to produce the 2001 College of Occupational Therapists' Strategic Vision and Action Plan. The current paper presents the review of the 2001 Strategic Vision and Action Plan, carried out in 2006. The review is in three parts: the background to the review, actions that have been taken since the publication of the 2001 Strategic Vision and Action Plan and actions for the future.
