AbstractThis chapter aims to analyze the legal framework of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), its legal standing, history, efficiency, and challenges. The first part of the chapter provides a brief historical background of the idea of collective security, and of the CSTO. The second part is devoted to the legal background of the CSTO, its legal structure, and regulatory documents.
