Abstract
The collective dynamics of molten Rb is investigated by inelastic neutron scattering and computer simulations at temperatures ranging from the melting point 312 to 600 K. Solid-like features such as the positive dispersion of the excitations are found to persist well inside the liquid phase. An interpretation of the thermal evolution of the spectra at various wave vectors is provided.
