Abstract
Using a model Hamiltonian with pairing and quadrupole forces we investigate the structure of selected states of the configuration j n with j = 13 2 , 17 2 , 21 2 and n = 4, 6 as a function of the relative coupling strength. Exact results for excitation energies, E2 transition rates and two-particle transfer spectroscopic amplitudes are presented and compared with the results of previous approximate variational calculations for the same model.
