<p>Recent technological advances, including storage space and computational algorithms, allow the collection and storage of a large number of biometric variables related to motion performance. The purpose of this study is to recognize the importance of portable technology in the field of sports and the international and national laws regulating the collection, use and storage of athletes’ sensitive biometric data, taking professional football players in Costa Rica as an example.
